A six-channel stereo/mono junction box (all TRS jacks), ready to handle Guitar IN, Amp OUT, Amp FX loop (four-cable method), Amp switching, external Exp/Vol pedals, effect pedal auditioning, balanced signals, TRS MIDI, or any other 1/4" signals you may need.

Keeps your cabling convenient and organized, and prevents wear on the jacks of your pedals.

We recommend using the I/O 6 as outlined below, but each of the six channels can be used as pass-throughs for whatever setup you'd like.

(starting from front, as labeled on the enclosure)

1: IN - The first input in your signal path. The outer jack automatically grounds the signal when empty, eliminating hum if a guitar cable is pulled.

2: OUT - The final send to your amp. This jack is grounded to the metal enclosure to shield all connections. To eliminate ground loops, this is the only jack permanently grounded to the enclosure.

3 and 4: These channels will automatically connect to each other when their outer jacks are both unused. This makes them ideal as an insert in your signal path for any setup with a send/return (four-cable method / pedal audition loop / external volume pedal, etc.)

5 and 6: These are simple pass-through channels, perfect for stereo sends, amp switching, external expression pedals, TRS MIDI cables, etc.

All I/O 6 units which are ordered with a pedalboard will be installed free of charge. Let us know in the product notes on this page whether you'd like the unit mounted in the right or left side-wall port. Our default location is the right side.

See JACK/PLUG COMPATIBILITY for additional information on jack types.

IMPORTANT:  When mounted on an X-Series pedalboard, all plugs and cabling must not cross the dotted red line. Route all wiring away from the side wall of the pedalboard and leave the label area clear, as this space is occupied by the moving components of the pedalboard when closed. For P-Series pedalboards this is not an issue.

  • Dimensions - 4.77 in x 2.58 in x 1.57 in
    (121 mm x 66 mm x 40 mm)

    Weight - 0.6 lbs (0.3 kg)

  • Due to the orientation of the I/O 6 in the pedalboard, there is a height limitation on the types of jacks which can be used (see product photo).

Most jacks which are shorter than 5/8" can be used, however traditional 'pancake' jacks such as the Switchcraft #228 and #238X are too wide to fit the hole spacing. Narrow 'pancake' jacks such as Squareplug SP400 and SP500 fit fine, as well as other compact 90-degree plugs (Switchcraft SW226, Ernie Ball Flat Ribbon, Evidence Audio SIS, etc.).
