The X-Series represents the cutting edge of pedalboard design, offering an unsurpassed combination of playability, pedal capacity, and portability. The patented two-tier design expands when it's time to play and shrinks for transport or storage.
The X20 Quad Cortex was engineered specifically to fit within the most common international carry-on dimensions (22" x 14" x 9"), opening a new world of possibilities for your fly-rig. For those who stay on the ground, its compact footprint is gig-friendly with plenty of room for all your favourite pedals. The top deck can fit up to 8 standard sized pedals and is profiled to fit a Neural DSP Quad Cortex as well as an onboard standard-size* wah, expression or volume pedal (the cutout can be mirrored to the opposite side of the deck upon request - please indicate in the Special Order Notes). The lower deck includes a two-section wah/exp riser which allows for easy mounting of the pedal and a convenient cable routing path. Low-profile power supplies (Cioks DC7, Strymon Ojai, Onespot CS6, GigRig, etc.) can be mounted under the top deck and still leave room for most standard-height pedals to sit below them on the base. Running a loop switcher instead? Take a look at our standard X20 Full Deck and Single Cutaway models.
Every X-Series pedalboard comes with 10 adjustable cable straps to anchor cables. Check out our X-Series set-up video in the resources section for a full overview and wiring tips.
All of our pedalboards include left and right ports for our optional I/O 6 junction box or AUX 3 panel. See ADDITIONS for more details. Note that due to the size of the Quad Cortex, the I/O 6 must be placed in the right side port. An AUX 3 can still be fitted in the left port (see images).
With side walls and a solid bottom, X-Series pedalboards provide superior protection for your gear when compared with other common open-bottom models. For fully enclosed lid and case options, see ADDITIONS.
Interested in a more complex paint job or stain? Have a large pedal which might need a special deck cutaway? See our Custom pages to see examples of possible modifications or shoot us a message to discuss your unique build.
*Our standard cutaway decks are sized for the common Vox/Dunlop pedals or smaller. If your pedal is larger, please contact us to discuss a custom deck profile or consider playing the pedal on the floor beside the pedalboard and routing it through the I/O 6 connector box. If you have a compact pedal (Dunlop Mini, etc.), consider storing it underneath the Full Deck model with our Stowaway Straps, which opens up more room in the front row and provides a more flexible upper deck shape.
